Sun Hats

Two more things finished on my list o' chores!

That's right I made Harvey and Cecilia sun hats for our trip to dc.

Harvey LOVES his hat, Lia... not so much. In her defense, it is hard to keep a hat on ones head when one is lying down all the time. Harvey on the other hand grabs his hat every time we run out the door.

Hat hair. hehehe

MacGeyser

We were stunned as we watched Harvey use the sprinkler as a cup and use pool water to rinse his mouth. At least he didn't drink it right?

Outside

Snapshots from our afternoon outside while Grandpa Doug was visiting. If you click on the photo you can see it full sized.

We decided to stay home rather than go to the park because 1. Captain might have been called into work and 2. It is inappropriate to go out in public with balloons in your undies.

Dress up

The whole time Granpa Doug was visiting, Harvey kept trying to take his glasses.

When he finally got his hands on them he played for about a half an hour. I think the glasses make him look like my brothers, not that i can find a picture to compare it with.

He thought they were the bombdigity. People still say that right? Either way Harvey liked them a lot.
Captain placed the book in front of him for the photos. I love how Harvey added the whole "live long and prosper" sign into it.

Gate Escape

Harvey has learned how to open the gate. We need a sign that says "Beware neked toddler."

Walking

We try to go for walks 3 times a week out here. It is good for this mama's figure. Plus it is a whole hour without Harvey running around like a mad man trying to get into everything he should stay out of. Harvey loves his walks and tries to initiate them by climbing into the stroller.

Harvey climbing in.

Getting everything situated. "Let's go mom!"

Harvey is proud as a peacock, and excitable as a puppy sitting in the front of his stroller.
Lia would rather be held, but is content with the gentle rocking motion.

Blessing

Cecilia Loraine Smith was blessed by her father on July 24th 2011.

Lia was a trouper and didn't fuss once during the blessing. She actually slept through the whole first hour of church.

She Also kept her gown free of spit up, poo, sweat, or any other baby fluids.

In fairness, we didn't put the dress on her until we arrived at the church.

She did wake up in tie for nursery though, and had a pleasant time chillin' with granpa.

She still kept her dress clean though.

Kitty Kitty

Behold! Our rarely photographed cat made it into 3 pictures this month.

Chloe atempting to prove that she is indeed more cuddly than the baby.

Irritated that I want to put wet clothes into her dryer.

Same shot without the flash, I think it turned out much nicer. Seriously though, our cat tries to get inside the dryer every time it opens. She is a bit of an oddball. She and Harvey make great companions with their desire to be places they shouldn't and co- obsession with opening doors.

Baby Shower

Exactly one month ago today (yes I am that far behind in posting) we had a baby shower for little Lia. It was the perfect way to introduce her to our friends.

There was wonderful food.

We played games. In one we guessed the contents of a baby diaper. Don't worry they were just candy bars.

Lastly, Lia received lots and lots of pretty outfits.

We had a wonderful time even if Lia did sleep through the whole thing.
