24...

For my 30 by 30 goals this month I practiced the piano for 3 hours every week. I know I wrote that it was really hard last month to find time, but I found it was even harder to wake up at 6 am every day. Even harder than that was trying to go to bed at 9 pm. You lose a lot of valuable alone time going to bed early. Projects suffer. I'm going to keep at it this next month though. Last month I managed about 3 days a week to be up by 6 and in bed by 9. This month I might just be able to hit 5 days, and if not 4 would be fine. I'm  also going to see if I can learn to do a hand stand this month as a backup.

24 goals to go means I have 2 years left on this project. I also means I had a birthday! We spent the day eating wonderful food and playing awesome games with friends and family. I made the best cherry chip cake. I will be making that recipe probably every year for the rest of my life now.

In other news, Captain and I refinished a pair of nightstands I picked up from a yard sale. It took us a month of evenings to finish it, but they turned out lovely in the end.

Cecilia loves everything that is Harvey's.

She uses his nap time to play with all his toys that he carefully hordes away while he is awake and alert.

She is quite pleased with herself.

I promise you, I did not put him in there or encourage this in any way. Harvey just really likes the puppy's bed.

Our neighbors gave us some leftover balloons from a rehersal dinner.

We put them to good use.

I did NOT manage to practice the piano enough to make my goal. Ok lets be honest here. I practiced exactly one time for 20 minutes. Maybe I should plan this goal for when Captain is home and the weather is too nasty to do stuff outside in the evenings.

I did finish my keep a dream journal for 30 days goal. You can read them if you want to, but fair warning while some are crazy, most are boring. When I wrote that goal on my list, i thought i would do 30 days in a row. Luckily for me the wording was not specific. I don't dream every single night well enough to write it down. I'm not sure if i will keep writing them down. Maybe just the crazy ones from now on.

So for next month, I am working on the go to bed by 9 wake up at 6 goal. So far this week I've managed to do it 3 times. Not too shabby. I think though I will also get to work on the pushups, hand stand and back walkover. Wish me luck!

P.S. I'm writing this at 9:10 pm and I can hear Cecilia waking up, soooo we aren't making 9 pm bedtime tonight.

Yard Work

I did some yard work recently. Between chasing Harvey back in the yard and cutting limbs we found a bird's nest.

Don't worry, it had been abandoned for a while now. Not birdlings were harmed in the cleaning of our yard. 

We also found that Cecilia doesn't much care for the feel of dead grass.

Dog Days

We have been playing outside in the water frequently this summer. Everyone seems to enjoy it.

Harvey likes to play with the hose.

Cecilia likes to climb in and out of the pool.

Ginka just likes to be part of what is going on, even if she has to put up with the kid's antics.

She is a good sport.
